This series of photos shows the lifts being used to raise a Nextel Cup car up 18” on standard jack stands. The approximate time from start to finish of this test was 45 seconds with an operator on each lift. The lifts used for this test were model #6586-5-18, 1,500lb capacity with 18” of lift height. These prototype units were natural aluminum, all production units are black anodized.

Place the lifts under the front wheels with an air line connected to each

Raise each lift simultaneously by pulling up on the operator lever

Place jack stands under the front of the car and
lower the lifts by pushing down on the operator lever

Move the lifts to the back wheels

Raise the rear of the car just as the front

Place the stands under the rear and remove the lifts. At this point it is not necessary to drop the lift all the way to the ground. You can leave it part way up and conserve air or nitrogen when it comes time to lower the car back down

To lower the car, just reverse the process, letting the back down first. If desired, four lifts can be used with four operators and four air lines. This of course, raises the entire car at once, in half the time.
